The update sees the introduction of new content in the form of Zandvoort Circuit Park track and a collection of cars namely the Alfa Romeo Mito Quadrifoglio Verde, the Toyota GT86, the Audi Sport Quattro, the Lamborghini Miura as well as the Nissan Nismo GT-R.
Though these cars might not “light the trousers on fire” for those that want more formula content it cannot be denied that they are all a delight to experience whilst brining there own character.
For the hardcore simulator fan of most significance are the improvements in the cars handling, FFB and the games net-code.
Cars are now more lively requiring the driver to lighten up and refine there footwork yet still retain that trademark kunos “this car actual has rubber wheels” feel.
The FFB improvements are perhaps more subtle but certainly seem to build on the previous version with exquisite detail and communication of the loading of the vehicle and those using a servo wheel such as the OSW or the Acuforce will likely also benefit from the inclusion of a setting that reduces some of the oscillation some DD wheel owners had.
AI has also been reworked and significantly improved and certainly makes for more enjoyable offline racing though still has a way to go to match AI in games like sector threes RaceRoomRacing experience.
Of course there has also been a whole host of tweaks and improvements with a full list of the changes available here.
All in all version 1.2 has made the game even more enjoyable at no cost to the player and when it comes to the raw enjoyment of pushing a car around the track AC 1.2 really delivers the goods.
