Individuals with Down Syndrome are particularly vulnerable to impaired cognition and decision-making, which can be further exacerbated by alcohol consumption.
CoorDown's viral social media campaign that instructs bartenders to ignore basic safeguarding principles and instead assume the individual with Down Syndrome they are serving belongs to a fractional minority of those who are slightly higher-functioning demonstrates complete disregard for the special care owed to people who are particularly vulnerable due to their disability.
