Asteroid 1950 DA is one of the most studied asteroids due to its high probability of impact with Earth.
It was discovered on February 22, 1950 by Carl Alvar Wirtanen at the Lick Observatory.
It is about 1.3 km in diameter.
In 2002, it had the highest probability of impact with Earth, with a 1 in 306 chance for a possible impact in 2880. Currently, the chance of impact is 1 in 8,300.
