In 2025, there will be two notable planetary alignments. The first will occur on January 21, when six planets (Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Venus, and Saturn) will appear to be aligned in the sky. Of these, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars will be visible to the naked eye, while Uranus and Neptune will require the use of a telescope2.

The second and rarest alignment will occur on February 28, when seven planets will be aligned. This event will not be repeated until 24921! Mercury will join the other six planets, becoming visible to the naked eye.

These alignments are more visual than astronomical, as the planets never form a perfectly straight line due to the tilt of their orbits. However, they offer a rare and impressive opportunity to observe several planets at the same time.
