The 2024 Game of the Year was a weird one that upset quite a few people. And not for the reason you'd expect.
Astro Bot was a love letter to the Sony Playstation since its inception. With so many references to all their past game series and titles, it was a nostaglia trip wrapped in a very Mario-esque platformer. By that, I mean, it looks cute on the outside, but holy hell will some of its levels give you a run for your money.
