Atari 8 Bit Game Play, Escape from Doomworld
5In which I play "Escape from Doomworld", published in 1986 by Red Rat Software. This game is kind of interesting, but not super interesting.
It has at least two different types of levels. The first is a platformer with slightly different mechanic of movement than is typical, in which you collect items and gain energy. The second reminds me of "Choplifter", in which you fly to the opposite end of a planetscape and pick up people.
Sound and graphics are decent. Controls are a bit awkward, particularly in the the rescue level, and poor collision detection kind of ruins that level.
