In which I play "Quasimodo" published in 1983 by Synapse Software and written by John Atack. This is a polished game, and what a pleasure it is to play such a good-looking, good-sounding game! That being said, this is a very challenging game, and it feels like you have to earn every bit of progress. There is lots of losing of players and starting the game over. A key difference here is that most of the player deaths don't feel like it was out of the player's control. So much more enjoyable than difficulty that comes from random chaos.
You should play this and see if you can do better than I can. Let me know if you do!
