Atari 8-Bit Game Play, The Last V8
In which I play "The Last V8", published by Mastertronic in 1985, programmed by David Darling. This is a "race your car to a base and don't stray off the road" game. You have a very short time limit in order to steer your V8 car through the radioactive wasteland that doesn't look much like a wasteland and get it to a base. I never got especially close, which I know from watching a play-through video that took all of about 2 minutes to complete. Controls are very awkward, and it feels like you are fighting them every step of the way. Then, about 30 seconds after you start playing, a bomb comes and ends the game. One car. No resumes. Frustrating as hell.
The music is pretty good though, and the graphics are alright if you ignore the fact that the game itself takes up about 29% of the screen.
