This shows the final result (well, I cleaned up the cutting after that, and I will probably add a metal grid to protect), after installing the Noctua NA-RC12 speed reduction wire and cutting the plastic away to improve the air flow.

The machine is now virtually silent, and it still has a decent cooling.
