Atari VCS! RetroArch Xtreme! 3DS NES Remix, PS2 720p Gradius V, Java God of War Betrayal!
28I do an overview and showcase of my new personal favorite go to for playing nostalgic emulation of games I loved, past, present, and future! The Atari VCS, much like the Playstation TV, and other "great on paper" ideas, simply did not do as well in today's Gaming Community, as might have been hoped for!
As a result, the Atari VCS, despite having nice mid-range PC specs, as well as a nifty Atari UI/OS Linux System, was a considerable flop...And, many stores very quickly liquidated their inventory, by selling it for a mere 90 USD average! It is nearly impossible to get it at this price, anymore. So, I would more strongly recommend simply running what you can on one of the more affordable Mini Classics, a RetroPie 2/3/4, or even on your PC, for games that are more spec demanding, such as 3DS/PS2/Atari Jaguar!
I, of course, will offer many avenues to follow, Xtreme Nostalgic Core Release wise, moving forward. To date, I have Releases for the MD/SNES/NES/PSC/Amiga 500 Mini Classics! I will do one for the Atari VCS, likely sometime in earlier 2023, if everything works out. I will still continue to do Releases for the aforementioned Mini Classics, as well!
I also showcase Java Games running, of which I can do a separate Video Tutorial for, as far as set-up and how to most optimally run them! They aren't the most user friendly to get up and running, particularly because you "need a Java" environment to emulate them, for starters! I may have a potential way to get these going on one or more of the Mini Classics, as well!
God of War Betrayal (Javaground developed side scrolling and quite capturing of the essence of the 3D GOW games) and Soul of Darkness ( Gameloft Castlevania Clone) are two of the most fun Java Games I have had the personal experience to enjoy and play! I thoroughly wish they would have gotten these 2 games on more platforms! I believe, Soul of Darkness, may still be able to be purchased digitally on the 3DS! But, I would have loved to see this turn up on Nintendo Switch, etc, as well!
Soul of Darkness is a very fun Castlevania Clone style game made by none other than Gameloft, the king of making offshoots of A List Titles! They have done them for everything from Uncharted to Grand Theft Auto, and so on. Hell, I need to refresh my memory and see if they did one for any of the Metroid Games!!! But, nonetheless...Soul of Darkness demands a playthrough, and is one of the most fun games I have played, since Shovel Knight, Axiom Verge, Shadow Complex, and other games have been in my sight!

Lastly, 3DS is one of my favorite things to emulate, since I love being able to run these on a large screen!!! NES Remix on a Large Screen is a sight to behold, despite the audio glitches:)
