I had so many crashes in this mission I lost count. The DOS version of ATF with NATO expansion seems to exhibit a bad case of memory leak. In some cases you will be thorwn back to DOS prompt with the message about not having enough extended memory (which you can emulate in DOSBox up to 63MB). There was a patch 1.1 for NATO Fighters aimed at Cyrix systems which had similar symptomps (before the patch Cyrix owners could disable object textures to circumvent this issue), but that patch doesn't help in case of DOSBox.

I even considered switching to ATF Gold or Fighters Anthology for this campaign though I would have to start anew since the save file, while campaign is underway, seems to be not compatible with ATF Gold or FA (I got fatal error when entering arming screen saying "Can't load PAVEWAY3.JT").

I did completed Baltics Campaign once (in DOSBox) so I was sure it's doable albeit sometimes frustrating with those damn crashes. Persistance wins the day however and so we can carry on with the campaign.

But let's get back to mission details: Russians met with weak opposition while our forces are still deploying are gaining ground and mechanized units are closing in on the capital of Latvia - Riga. We will fly armed recon along the highway taking out any armored units we can lay our eyes on.
