Is having a belief a bad thing in and of itself? I would argue not. There are lots of atheists that do seem to think belief in and of itself is bad. With many atheists arguing that they hold no beliefs whatsoever, and arguing that atheists do not do belief in and shape or form. Holding beliefs of some kind in some form seems to be inescapable though.

In this video I take a look at what beliefs are, and look at why they are inescapable. Looking at how beliefs are defined in everyday use, as well as in philosophy and psychology. The video also looks at how our perceptions are made up of what is known as schemata, and the relationship between beliefs, schemata and our perceptions.

It also covers some common misunderstandings and faulty claims that many atheists make when it comes to holding beliefs. Also discussing why beliefs in and of themselves are not bad things. It is not belief in general that is bad. What makes a belief bad is its quality. Something else discussed in the video.
