Welcome to the first episode in my new series Hardware Chronicles! We take a look at computing hardware of the past, talk a bit of history and where our subject fits into the grand scheme of things!

Our first episode focuses on the X1600XT graphics card from ATi, a semi-middle range graphics card released at the threshold of a new console generation in October 2005. We take a quick look at it's performance in some classic PC games to give an idea of what the X1600XT could and could not do, especially in face of the beastly Xbox 360!
