Echo Night is an obscure atmospheric horror game by FromSoftware that got little attention at the time but is interesting to look at to see how their cryptic storytelling and uneasy atmosphere manifested. Whether being a stepping stone that helped them learn to evolve to what they are today, or being a unique and interesting game in its own right, this video essay will give a detailed look at a game almost no one seems to know about, Echo Night.
