After Silent Hill 2’s initially disappointing sales, the next game was intended to be a rail shooter. Then, the team focused their efforts to change to typical Silent Hill gameplay but with a different type of character from their previous every-man stories. After a largely smooth, yet fast paced development cycle, fans would be treated to an intensely terrifying game with a breadth of symbolism strewn throughout. Despite these largely-lauded additions, its sales wouldn’t impress and future media relating to SH3 would be largely amiss for fans.
