0Atomic Heart is an action-packed first-person shooter video game that also incorporates elements of role-playing. Players engage in combat by using both firearms and improvised weapons to shoot and slash their way through a wide range of enemies. These adversaries can be mechanical, biomechanical, biological, or even airborne.
In the game, there is a crafting system that allows players to assemble weapons using metal parts that are either scavenged from robots or taken from household appliances. Weapons can also be upgraded using a unique mechanic called "cassettes." However, ammunition is scarce, and players can choose to employ stealth tactics to avoid combat altogether.
Additionally, the game includes quick-time events and a special glove, the Polymer Glove, which grants players special powers such as telekinesis, freezing, and electricity to defeat their enemies. These powers can be combined with both melee and ranged weapons to devastating effect.
Players can also upgrade their ammunition using canisters that contain various elemental effects. These canisters can be looted or crafted, and once equipped, can enhance both melee and ranged weapons. When the canister is depleted, it is removed from the player's inventory.
