Attack of the Karens is one of the best SHMUPS I've played, period. Do you like Tyrian? You'll like this. Almost certainly. It has a whimsical story, fantastic pixel art, and a soundtrack that will live in your head well after you stop playing for the day. There are roguelike elements which allow you to purchase permanent upgrades for your ship as well.
