Autism (ASD) Screening (Neurological, Attention, Memory, & Identification Tests) 🩺 ASMR Medical RP
599There are plenty of ASMR 'ADHD Screening' videos, and today we're working with a different neurodevelopmental condition: Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD. There are a mix of ASD, ADHD, and neurological examination tests; with tests like the 'beep test' with headphones & the fishbowl effect, blink when you see ___, description & interpretation, and identification.
Note: ASD is a complex subject with nuance that can't be summed up in 5 mins, so this is just bare bones stuff. Every presentation is completely unique with their own symptoms and challenges. The observational 'screening questions' discuss some of the lesser-known signs, but some with ASD don't identify with these and they're also rather limited in that there are sooo many other lesser-known signs as well; I just picked a few here and there. We didn't even really get into things like special interests or language differences, for one, LOL. (... does anyone else dislike using 'I'/'you' and instead use the “royal 'we'” and 'one'?)
I chose to film this like I did my first ADHD screening video, in that it is real information in the beginning and then some ASMR-ified tests. It's absolutely not supposed to be an indicator of having ASD, ADHD, or any other condition, it's just for relaxation. If the signs/symptoms seem like they hit a little close to home, I'd recommend taking a look at the DSM-5 criteria firstly: https://www.cdc.gov/autism/hcp/diagnosis/index.html Browsing autistic communities like Reddit's autism, ADHD, and AuDHD subreddits can be helpful for finding those lesser-known signs/symptoms that may clarify or point one somewhere else as well. And, of course, talking to one's doctor or mental health professional about one's concerns would be awesome if that's accessible.

From Oxford Languages: "a feeling of well-being combined with a tingling sensation in the scalp and down the back of the neck, as experienced by some people in response to a specific gentle stimulus, often a particular sound. 'ASMR is triggered by things like whispering voices, paper tearing, and scalp massage.'"
