For Halloween I attempted to make a jump scare device in Minecraft that would automatically reset itself, purely because I hadn't seen one done yet. Mostly this was a proof of concept than any kind of compact design, so the redstone is very messy - I'll leave it to the professional redstoners to compact and streamline.

It's based on the room TangoTek did in his haunted house for halloween, with the main difference being his had to be manually reset. With a solid floor, walls, and a ceiling, triggering the trap would turn off the light making the room pitch black and then launch the armor stand at you with a flash of light at the same time
