I don't think i need to tell any of you about the rash of sub par third person cover based shooters flooding the gaming market right now. It seems like every month there is a new gears of war clone announced for release and with so many titles trying to capitalize on this trend, it's becoming less and less of a surprise when these games end up being terrible. There is however a a ray of light in the shit storm that is modern games, Spec Ops The Line is a dark and revitalizing kick in the proverbial ass. When most games are busy trying to copy the gameplay mechanics of the latest third person shooter, Spec Ops use this popular style to tell a compelling narrative and i respect that. It's very rare for a modern game to go out of its way to focus on story telling, but is Spec Ops great story telling enough to pull it out of the mediocrity of its peers?..........let's find out in my review of Spec Ops The Line.
