AVORION MULTIPLAYER - Renting a NEW Avorion Server Part 3: What I Learned So Far!

So here is what I've learned so far since making the Danny Code Avorion server live. In this video, I quickly go over features of the back end control panel of the server. I highlight things like how to edit the server configuration file and the server mod file, and how to actually install mods on a live server.

It's all pretty straightforward, but there are some caveats to look out for. For instance, when editing the configuration file, server.ini, and the mod install file, modconfig.lua, you have to stop the server, save the file, and then restart the server. This seems obvious, but what isn't obvious is that in this install the file won't save if the server is up. So the stop, save, then start procedure has to be followed exactly.

I hope everyone that is thinking of renting and starting a live Avorion server, especially at LOW.MS, finds this video informative and handy. I will be doing a part 4 to this series when I have more to share with everyone. 😎
