Niche is a new turn-based survival strategy life sim. Wow. That's a lot. As you expand your animal tribe, you can tweak their genetics directly or through breeding. Customize your creatures to improve their chances of survival in hostile environments!

I find the game to be a little unintuitive, but not so much that it ruins the game. The tutorial definitely isn't adequate, though. Other than that, if you like micromanagement survival life sims and genetically engineering little critters, you should check this out!
