Finally beat Ayre for the first time during my playthrough. Decided to go with a lighter Armored Core mech this time after a bunch of trial and error against Ayre. I was using some heavy armored cores before and was having a hard time keeping up with Ayre's speed. I never tried the Zimmermans before, but knew they were op from memes that I've seen on reddit lol. I tested a few energy weapons against Ayre and really like how easy it was with the "funnels" (VVC-700LD). With this build I found it pretty easy to stagger Ayre with the Funnels and doing decent damage with the trusty zimmermans. I ended up getting S Rank on this mission with this build.

If you're having trouble, I found that the key to this fight was to get the timing down on when Ayre would launch the sword attacks. You can choose to just dodge backwards, towards the boss, or just fly upwards most of the time. Getting comboed by Ayre's sword attacks is pretty devastating so dodge them! Overall though, the fight was pretty fun and Ayre has some cool abilities.
