I was determined to get this captured and uploaded before Gunvolt 3 released, and it looks like I've just barely made it.

In the lead-up to Gunvolt 3, I started replaying the first game and felt compelled to capture a run of my favourite stage to showcase the gameplay, because while I certainly understand why most people prefer Copen's more dynamic high-flying playstyle (myself included), there's something beautiful in the simplicity of GV's gameplay loop that I think many people don't appreciate.

GV takes a step back from the rushdown melee combat of Mega Man Zero & ZX to take a more tactical approach. His playstyle is all about tagging groups of enemies and taking them out simultaneously while weaving through attacks and hazards. It's a playstyle that rewards patience as well as knowledge of the stage layout and enemy placements - that doesn't mean it can't still be flashy, however.

The Media Tower stage is the ideal showcase for this, as it is littered with groups of two and three enemies, with several fours and even a five, all while having an interesting platforming mechanic that compliments the largely vertical stage layout - and while he's a notorious run-killer who loves to waste time, Jota is easily my favourite boss in the game, if not the entire series.

Full disclosure in case it's not obvious: checkpoints were used. It's all from the same attempt, but I captured it in three parts and edited them together, because I am absolutely too rusty for a full no-damage run at the moment, especially against Jota the RNG nightmare, who added so much recording time that I don't even care that I missed a medal at the end.
As a bonus, however, this meant I actually got to use the Offensive Skills for once, since I was going to banking all my Kudos points at set intervals either way, and it also demonstrates that you don't necessarily need to do an unbroken run to hit S+ - you just have to play smart.

I may attempt a proper unbroken run at some point in the future.
