let's talk about this Babylon floppy news and how marketing a movie is near impossible these days so this big old Hollywood epic Babylon fails at the box office from director Damien chazelle the same dude that did Whiplash La La Land first man but why did it flop well casual fans don't know this dude's name and it's a three-hour movie I mean that is a huge commitment but I think it's impossible to Market a movie these days because there's just too many Avenues trailers banners Tick Tock Billboards press circuits it just goes off obviously being in movie sphere I watched the trailer on YouTube but I never once saw it in the movie theater which is weird so it's really about allocating the marketing dollars and where they go like these Tick Tock ads were bad and also this movie doesn't have Mass Appeal so it making upwards of 250 million was almost laughable unfortunately original ideas are such a gamble there's just too much competition for people's time and word of mouth is the secret sauce I mean top gun Maverick for example
