Do you feel tense when playing this level? I certainly do... yet, despite the nerve-wracking atmosphere, The Lobby (Level 0) remains one of my favorite Backrooms environments! There’s just something about the damp yellow carpet and grimy walls that perfectly captures the eerie Backrooms vibe. If the tension gets too overwhelming and you’re looking for a way to increase your chances of survival there is good news! There’s a hidden trick that can make this level much easier.
After exiting the elevator, your main tasks are to collect six VHS tapes and complete another objective, like recording specific events (blackouts, alarms, or one of my personal favorites; the Smiler). But here’s the challenge: you’ll also need to avoid the 8-foot-tall, stringy black Bacterium (or 'lifeform entity'), which relentlessly hunts you throughout the level. How does skipping all this sound? Tempting, right? Well, it’s possible, and this video will show you how!
Easter Egg Explanation
In The Lobby, there are areas where grids of square holes allow you to drop to the floor below. Randomly falling into one of these holes is usually fatal, but some have mattresses below to cushion your fall. The key is to look for black moldy spots on the ceiling above the holes. These spots mark the safe jumps with these matresses!
By carefully identifying these spots, you can safely drop through and skip all the objectives, heading straight to the exit without risk.
