«Bad Mojo: The Roach Game Redux» is a re-release of a classical «Bad Mojo: The Roach Game». Original game was developed by Pulse Entertainment and published by Acclaim Entertainment in 1996. «Redux» version was released in 2004 by Got Game Entertainment. Differences between the original and «Redux» versions are: Arcanoid-like mini-game in the installation program was completely removed in the «Redux», cinematics in the «Redux» are in better quality (they're all the same, just in better quality), and there's a bonus disc with some extras. I've decided to record this version, because it's hard to get the original version of the game that works properly on modern PCs (even with the DOSBox, Virtual PC, VMWare, or other stuff like this), and it's even harder to capture the videos from genuine Windows 98 PC (just imagine Fraps or something like that on Pentium 166 lol). So, here's «Redux» version for you.

The game itself is a strange mix of an adventure game, some sort of cockroach simulator (pretty realistic one, it'll be like a horror game for you if you have entomophobia like me), and a little action. The game is absolutely unique, so, it's hard to describe it. Just check out the videos.

Just a quick walkthrough this time though, no longplay. I'll find all the glyphs which trigger the hints and show you the best ending possible, but I won't visit all the possible locations. I'll try to show you the most interesting things, but I just won't stop on each and every screen just because it exists. Also, this is no-deaths walkthrough, but actually, there are many ways to die. You can be killed by a spider, you can be eaten by Franz the cat, etc. So, if you're searching for the walkthrough, take this note also -- save often if you decide to explore by yourself. And save before the spider even if you won't. It's too easy to be killed by him. There's four lives for you in this game though and there's no penalty even if you use most of them.

Meet Roger, the young fella who just stole a helluva lot of money and is ready to leave for a better life. His old life sucks. His mother died by giving birth to him, his father abandoned him, and everyone treated him like a cockroach. But no more! NOW he has money and his life is ready to change! If only that stupid landlord Eddie doesn't mess up his plans...

Roger appears in the sewers. And, well, he's been transformed into cockroach. What an irony... But it looks like he's lost his memory too, so, let's explore a little. There are many dangerous things around that are harmless to people and deadly to a cockroach.

Walkthrough notes: There are two glyphs in this part. You can't miss the first one -- it's on the leg of a water heater, right where your new cockroach friends gathered. Second one is near the pile of papers. By standing on it you'll do a good deed -- save a mouse from the trap. Poor thing has babies... Don't forget to solve the puzzle to blow the fuse -- it's important for a good ending. Also, save before the spider. It looks easy and it actually is, but it's too easy to die there by the occasion. Same goes for those wires that you'll need to short. It's too easy to fall.
