Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is a game about mental illness, mythology, and the dark age mindset.

In this episode Senua recalls Druth's tale of Baldr the Golden. It's an interesting story because it includes far more Christian elements than many of the other tales, legends and lays from Norse mythology. It could be seen as a sign of cultural integration, foreign influence, or even as Christian proaganda. If we then consider Ragnarok to be less about the end of the world and more about the death of the old ways and the birth of a new world, then the coming of Christianity to the northern people almost fulfils the criteria of such a cataclysmic event. I should probably do a separate video on that at some point.
