67In today’s Baldur's Gate 3 Guide episode, we will talk about proficiency, saving throws, and advantage and disadvantage. As part of our beginner’s guide series, each week, we will break down rulesets based on the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Player’s Handbook and we will connect these with the information we know about Baldur's Gate 3. All characters have proficiency bonuses depending on their level. This helps in adding to the success of a roll. At Levels 1 to 4, you have a proficiency bonus of +2, while at Levels 5 to 8, you gain a proficiency bonus of +3, and so on. These are used on attack rolls in terms of how well you wield your weapons and cast your spells, ability checks to see how good you are with your skills and tools, and saving throws, more on this later.
