This is a quick guide to how skill checks work in Baldur's Gate 3 as they are a bit different to D&D. Trust the dice! You can pass or fail skill checks and you will get different routes through the game, and not get a game over.

Do keep in mind that Baldur's Gate 3 is still in early access and so the features shown in the video are subject to change and the game is incomplete, so expect more to be added to the game in the future. At time of recording the game was still in Early Access Patch 9, and by the time of the full release of Baldur's Gate 3 things may have changed.
