Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance [Extreme Difficulty] #05
Lighting the signal fire, getting the key and heading into the mines!
The mines, for what their worth, are not all that difficult. The goal is to run through and find three different gears for the mine shaft so that they can progress onward. Drow warriors are not all that strong, they don't deal a ton of damage and die easily. The archers can be a bit more of a pain, they dish out high damage and can poison. However, if you get into melee with them, they'll stop attacking and run away.
The second level brings on the sorceresses and lizard riders. The sorceresses don't deal crazy damage on their own, but you'll likely be fighting multiple of them at a time. I actually think it's better to engage them at range and dodge their spells, their melee attacks are surprisingly powerful. The lizard riders, in most situations, can just be cheesed because they can't fit through any walkways. Also, their attack animation is very strange, if you block the first swing, it seems like the second always misses. They seem threatening; they are not. At least, not for the archer.
The holes might be the greatest enemy in this place.
