Baldur's Gate II : Enhanced Edition - Twisted Rune (Solo Fighter/Mage/Cleric)
22Supposedly one of the hardest fights of the game, the Twisted Rune was an exciting battle. My priority is the Beholder first, as he can nullify all of your buffs with one anti-magic ray. Once he is slain, I focus on the vampire, as her level drain is more annoying than anything. After her, just mop up the rest one by one, using Breach and True Seeing to bypass the mages' protections.
For buffs, use Remove Fear to resist his Symbol of Fear, Chaotic Commands to resist Imprisonment/Maze, Protection from Fire to resist his Fire Shield, and True Seeing to dispel Mirror Images and Mislead. Protection from Evil will make the Pit Fiend ignore you. I don't have the amulet that protects from level drain, so i keep Negative Plane Protection up until Shyressa is dead.
Since Drake isn't high enough to cast Improved Haste, I use the Ring of Gaxx to do so instead. Since he has achieved three million experience, I have access to the Fighter high level abilities like Critical Strike. This makes the beholder trivial and prevents him from dispelling Drake's buffs.
The reward for this fight is the coveted Staff of the Magi.
