I could spend 5 hours to complete this game on maximum difficulty but I'm pretty burned out on Baldur's Gate. I might go back and properly finish the game on maximum difficulty but that massive difficulty spike at the end really gets me. You can get through the entirety of Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II and Throne of Bhaal on maximum difficulty without any real trouble but that final battle against Amelyssan is completely ridiculous, especially for mages who can't rest and are reliant upon reloading saves and using the wish spell in order to memorize spells.
