Ballistic NG - The WipeOut that should have been
106*I should add, this video was made only after playing Ballistic NG for 40 minutes or so after install. As a result, I don't actually know the tracks.
On the suggestion of Timothy Wightman in one of the my last videos I gave Ballistic NG, developed by Neognosis on Steam a go. It's a Unity engine powered early access title I'd seen previously in the Steam marketplace but bypassed it because it looks like a PS1 game. That was a big mistake because Ballistic NG is the WipeOut game PS4 should have gotten instead of the Omega Collection. The game may look like a PS1 era game but it's a shining example of how great gameplay and superior controls are timeless and more important than the latest graphics tech.
Even better, the game is free on Steam at the moment but still supports some cool aspects even though it's still in development. Those include mod support and a track editor, leaderboards, campaign, racebox, tournaments and time trials.
