Try Again? RedOut
A short demo video of Redout after making some car adjustments for better gameplay. I maxed out some of the mods basically going for better grip and better boost. This allowed me to reduce drift, grants better corning ability and maximizes speed. Now I can compete if not completely blow the doors off my car making Redout more fun to play whereas before, it was a struggle. Unfortunately, strafing in Redout just doesn't feel as good as airbraking in the WipeOut series. It's still too hard to smoothly glide through turns and there isn't any clear indication or sound effect to let you know strafing is working. In WipeOut and even F-Zero you can hear the airbrakes engage in combination with a more extreme pivot of the car. Especially in first person mode. This allows the driver to better judge a corner based on the sound effect and pivot, getting a better feel of the turn. Redout doesn't quite do this. Unless the player stands on the brakes and strafes, the car generally doesn't feel like it's handling any differently going into a turn while strafing leaving me to guess as to whether I should make an adjustment.
