Both the previous maps with the Darkness caravan had weird force deployments- this is what a standard map looks like for them. The Apostate to Krumr one-two immediately boosts everyone's strength, but since it moves Apostate directly behind Krumr in turn order it's something you can only do once per battle. Eyvind ensures everyone stays healthy. Iver, Krumr and Ekkill have the best stats of our units.

Bak has something special- the interaction between the Heroic Title 'Death's Messenger' and the spearman's Impale skill. Death's Messenger means that if the unit deals damage to the same enemy more than once, subsequent attacks do increased damage. This is normally a pretty weak title but it works exceptionally with Impale. Impale normally causes the enemy to take 1 damage every square they move- but with Death's Messenger, each incident of 1 damage counts as a subsequent attack and gets the DM boost. Once maxed out, enemies will take 6 damage with every square they move- enough to kill anything, and they have the good grace to die on their turn and give you turn order initiative.

Is Bak the best user? Hmm. I think the best user is either a spearman or Oli with his Axe Storm- I raised Oli in BS2 partly with the intention of using him as my Death's Messenger, but the accuracy on Axe Storm is just a little too iffy. I think it's a fair question whether it's best to have DM in the Darkness caravan instead of giving the title to Tryggvi- I feel Rook's caravan has a harder time, but then again, Rook was already renown starved trying to feed Yrsa. I'm happy enough with the decision I made.

I cut things pretty close here on the first wave, I'm not quite sure what that was about- maybe too much faffing around with Eyvind and Apostate.

New enemies:

Warped Bears don't have the Bear 'must break all armor before hitting strength' effect, and they don't have the warped human 'must break willpower before hitting strength' effect either. They're just fairly bulky generic warped.

Warped Slingers have a ranged attack but no other abilities besides the explode on death, they don't even run away if hit.

Alert Warped Slingers- the ones with the pink dress- have Alette's Overwatch as a special ability! If you walk into their range, you take a standard strength-targeting attack. Not too threatening- Alette is so strong because of all the synergies she can stack with Overwatch, the skill by itself isn't an issue.
