Banner Saga Chapter 3.5- Little Did They Sleep: Godstone Denglr (Hard/No Injuries)
This map sees the introduction of Dredge Slingers, a ranged enemy. Their stats are low but they're a lot harder to control than the clumsy melee dredge, so they tend to be a high priority. In this map you see one get a shot on Yrsa that nearly kills her from full health, that's what we're trying to avoid. All Slingers can do a 1-strength true damage attack that prevents the target using any exertion on the next turn. Elite slingers also have 'Shatterstone', a ground aoe that takes a turn to detonate; as long as you have fewer units than the opponent, you can run out of the aoe before it goes off. Slingers also move away a few spaces if attacked- this works well with Ludin's Impale, if he donks a slinger they'll take an extra chunk of strength damage.
We recruit Fasolt on this map. Fasolt has great stats- he starts at 15A and has a 19 armor cap, that's crazy- but he has a unique availability problem that makes him an unattractive investment. He's joining halfway through this chapter when we already have our core team established. He'll join Rook's team for literally four map before disappearing again. He won't show up again until the very end of Banner Saga 2- he's only available for five maps total and joins underleveled after you've established your main team, again. It's not until Banner Saga 3 that we really get good Fasolt content, which is a shame, he's an interesting character and has nice stats.
