Puzzles, puzzles, puzzles is what this excellent (and imposing) game is all about and kept me up until 0430 in the morning, just because I wanted to know both story arcs! Figuring out out the puzzles is a lot of fun, so rather play the game yourself than watching me play it. There are some cuts in the longplay as some puzzles really stumped me (I think getting the weapon for the barbarian took me the longest lol) and so you can then use the video as a walkthrough when you are stuck and it stays interesting. But it is not that hard and rather fun.
The story is about 2 characters that couldn't be more different and from more different backgrounds and how they meet their fate.
Along the way they meet all kinds of interesting characters that are all voiced (by real humans, totally worth it, check the credits!) and it is fun talking to them and getting stuff done for them, solving all their very varied puzzles and hearing their takes on everything. The writing is excellent and very humorous!
The art is very well done, the C64 palette and all the nods to retro games (the copy protection at the beginning and also the copy puzzle for the robot!) are weaved together so well, pure joy!
Animations are fluid and full of life and fun to watch, sadly there is no dance puzzle. The sounds effect work and the music is an original chiptune(ish?) soundtrack and also very well done and fitting.
Easily the best game I played this year and it is even free!
