Escape from Barnabys Isle was a text-adventure game included in ANTIC magazine in 1989 when I was 13. It was written by David Woolley. Although featured as part of a reader-submitted text adventure game challenge, it was pretty basic. There's not a lot to escaping from Barnaby's Isle. Read a book, throw a dead rat at a troll, sail a boat... Unless you're so much of a completionist you desperately want to know how to get a 100% score. What is there is well-described and atmospheric, however.
