📙 In the late 1980s and early 1990s, there was a subgenre of action games where you would take control of a single vehicle and attack an enemy base, slowly weakening it by destroying its defenses and enemy vehicles protecting it. The most well-known series in this genre are the Strike games, beginning with 'Desert Strike' from 1992. Base attack games would often have a military setting, sometimes with sci-fi elements. This video series aims to show off a few of these games, often running on the MiSTer hardware emulation platform.

I realized that 'Dogos' from 2016 could be a candidate for belonging in the Base Attack genre, and got back and played a bunch of it. The game plays OK, but the balancing is a bit off. The boss fights are very long on the normal difficulty.
