0Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean (バテン・カイトス 終わらない翼と失われた海?, Baten Kaitos: Owaranai Tsubasa to Ushinawareta Umi) is one of the few—but excellent—RPGs available for the short-lived Nintendo GameCube. After publishing the full playthrough of the game on the channel, I just had to jump into its prequel, Baten Kaitos Origins. I was hooked not just by the gameplay—which I really enjoyed—but also by the story. Despite the voice acting doing its best to ruin the pathos of nearly every scene, the narrative is surprisingly good.
Now, this game is filled with random encounters. You can skip most of them, but trust me—when you're playing, the gameplay loop is actually pretty fun. Still, I realized that if you're mainly interested in the story, constantly skipping around can get annoying and you might miss important dialogue.
So, I decided to create a more streamlined "movie cut" of the game. I've kept in all the cutscenes and main story dialogue, along with the boss fights, but removed all the random battles and exploration. The result is a more focused experience that highlights the story without all the grinding.
