This video features the second boss fight of Batman: Arkham Origins, where you face off against Slade Willson, AKA Deathstroke. Note that this video was recorded while playing on New game plus mode.
Since Killer Croc is basically a tutorial to teach you dodge manuvers and beatdowns, Deathstroke is the first true boss fight of Arkham Origins and the first major assassin you have to face in the main story. The sequence is a lenghty combat-oriented challenge where you have to carefully hit the boss at the right time and master the use of your counterattacks, since Deathstroke will punish you dearly if you'll just try to button smash him into oblivion.
The majority of the battle is spent in a close quarters duel between Deathstroke and Batman. While in this phase you must focus on hitting Deathstroke with one or two attacks whenever possible and counter his moves. On this last regard, Deathstroke requires a far more precise timing to defend yourself and you'll be forced into a QTE with more precise counters required each time. This is one of the main reasons Deathstroke is one of the hardest boss fights on New game plus and I am the Night mode, since the counter icons disappear and you must relay on your reflexes alone. As shown in the video, you can cheese Deathstroke in this phase by firing your claw on him and follow with a strike. This strategy however won't work every time, given Deathstroke has a chance to dodge all your gadgets attacks. Whenever Deathstroke has lost enough healt, he'll drop a smoke bomb and return shortly after to beat you down: at this point you must tap the counter button and then you are allowed to give him a beat down. After each beatdown Deathstroke will become more and more aggressive and the counters require to parry his attacks faster and more precise. If both of Batman and Deathstroke come too close to the arena's walls, they will automatically bring themselves closer to the centre during a cutscene.
Starting from the first beatdown, at some points during the fight Deathstroke will fire his remote claw at Batman and go to the far end of the arena to take sniping shots at you. You can resume the battle quickly by grabbing the explosive tanks coming at you at the correct time and throwing them at the boss.
After the third beatdown a cutscene will play and the battle will be over
