On Sunday the 20th September 2020, a Battle of Britain service was held at Westminster Abbey in London. The event followed government guidelines on COVID-19, adhering to strict social distancing and a limited number of attendees.
The service included a reading from Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Michael Wigston, CBE and culminated in a flypast from RAF Coningsby’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, the first decisive battle in history fought entirely in the air. Battle of Britain Sunday commemorates all the men and women who contributed to this significant victory.
