Battle Shapers is a super promising sci-fi FPS roguelike in development. The base game is already fun with good gunplay and fast movement. Battle Shapers has great animations and a lot of available progression. The combat is satisfying and very fast, the floors don't feel repetitive and enemy types are varied. If you played Roboquest and liked it, you'll enjoy this for sure. It also has a definite Mega Man vibe with the art style, as well as the fact that your core abilities are defined by your core, and you can defeat bosses to use their core. You need to beat them once to unlock their core, then a couple more times to level up their core to level 3 where you can use it as your primary core and use their abilities. Their abilities are pretty different as one of them can fly and throw mini tornadoes. Another one throws big balls of AoE DoT and slams into the ground for a big explosion. The third attacks while dashing and charges up a big attack. Your base core is a shield that reflects projectiles. While it's not terribly exciting, it's pretty good against many enemies but it's just not very useful against bosses. This game has a lot of potential, can't wait for the next major development update this month. Hope you enjoy my video.
