Battlefield 4 - South China Sea - NPC Blocking Stairs Glitch Fix

In the mission "South China Sea" when you get to a point on the battleship the NPC blocks the stairway where you need to walk up in order to progress. Without being able to get past these stairs, you can't go any further in the mission.

In order to fix it, all you need to do is zoom in with your weapon and spray bullets on either side of the NPC as shown in the video and eventually he will die, allowing you to t-bag him and walk up the stairs to finish the rest of the mission in the Battlefield 4 Campaign.
