53Battlefield V is focused extensively on party-based features and mechanics, scarcity of resources, and removing "abstractions" from game mechanics to increase realism.There is an expanded focus on player customization through the new Company system, where players can create multiple characters with cosmetic and weapon options. Cosmetic items, and currency used to purchase others, are earned by completing in-game objectives.

In the spring of 1943, in Rjukjan, Norway, a British commando unit is killed attempting to infiltrate a German occupied facility and Astrid, the Norwegian resistance fighter assisting them, is captured. Meanwhile, Astrid's daughter Solveig fights her way into the facility to rescue her. However, Astrid refuses to leave, insisting that the facility must be destroyed first since it is producing heavy water for Germany's nuclear weapon research. The pair manage to sabotage the facility, but much of the heavy water is evacuated by truck. They attempt to pursue, but are cornered on a bridge by German forces commanded by Leutnant Weber. Entrusting Solveig with the mission to destroy the heavy water, Astrid pushes her off the bridge to prevent her from being captured. Narrowly surviving the fall, Solveig carries on the mission, pursuing the trucks and destroying all of them. Unfortunately, the Germans have already loaded Astrid and some of the heavy water on board a U-boat, and Solveig is unable to board it. Astrid steals a grenade and uses it to destroy the U-boat and the heavy water, killing herself and Weber in the process. It is left unclear whether Solveig survived the explosion or not.
Still and Silent
The level begins with you on skis, so slide your way down the mountain while heading in the general direction of the objective. Don't worry, almost no fall here will kill you and once you drop off the big one, the section will end.
From here, you will make your way along a winding path through several small checkpoints until you reach your destination. You can do this quietly, or simply run and gun it.
If you're just looking to beat the level and enjoy the story, we suggest the run and gun method, as it's far simpler and isn't that challenging due to the extremely powerful rifle you have at your disposal.
If you do plan to do this quietly, your best course of action is to use the Throwing Daggers to kill enemies, and never follow the road. You will routinely find tracks in the snow that lead to side areas, letting you skip major checkpoints full of enemies.
Once you do get to the primary building, head inside and up a few floors to find your objective. There may be a few guards in here as well, so again, knife them to quietly get to the objective.
Once you free your mother, defend her during the first segment. There will only be a handful of enemies, so it shouldn't require much effort. After, head outside to sabotage the two objectives. They are defended by flamethrower troops who take several headshots to kill, so make sure to have plenty of ammo before heading over. To sabotage each device, just walk up to it and your character will interact with it.
After they are both blown up, you need to head back to the main bridge from earlier. Since stealth is no longer needed, we suggest just following the road and killing any soldiers along the way, as it will lead you directly to your destination.
