[Synopsis]

This video compares the Roland MT-32 sound synthesizer with the Adlib sound synthesizer for Battletech 2, both were popular during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The Roland MT-32 cost about $695 when it was released in 1987, and the Adlib cost about $200 when it was released. The Adlib was more affordable than the Roland MT-32, but it wasn't as good as the Roland MT-32. The Adlib was much better than the PC internal speaker which was only capable of playing one tone.
