Paradox Interactive and Harebrained Schemes announced that the upcoming mech-powered turn-based strategy game BattleTech will be published by Paradox.

If you’re unfamiliar with the game, it’s set in the MechWarrior/BattleTech universe that provided a ton of fun to tabletop and RPG gamers of my generation, and it’s the first turn-based tactical PC game in the franchise in over 20 years.

At the helm are Jordan Weisman, creator of the original BattleTech and MechWarrior, Mitch Gitelman, Producer of the MechCommander series, and Mike McCain, Creative Director of the Shadowrun series.

While the game was initially promised for May 2017, the press release only mentions a “2017” release window, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer.
