It's a new year, which means it's time to do my new year's resolution. And I resolve to go back to my old love of playing episodes and total conversions. What better way to start than a classic in the community and a long overdue request? That's right, it's time to play through The Gate!

When it comes to enjoyable old Duke 3D mods, it's pretty hard to compete with the gate. For starters there's new music, sounds, textures, and weapons
to use. There's also a brand new tough enemy that can use a variety of weapons. That's all without mentioning that this mod brings to the table what I love the most: good level design, tons of enemies and a difficult challenge! I'm still miffed that I'm still missing a secret area in the second level, but life goes on.
