Welcome to another rendition of mediocre map and mod month, where I give special love and attention to crappy custom Duke content! I figure 3 years is too long to go without my special for November? Well I've certainly got a doozy for you this year: Ultima TC!

So to the best of my knowledge this mod was made by a user named Tornado, and was released as an unfinished beta. And boy, does it sure play like it. To start with the things I like there's 3 new weapons: The m16 rifle, the LMG, and the shotgun is a double barrel shotgun which is really just two of duke's shotguns taped together. There's new music and two new enemies that replace the pig cop and the drones as well: Lo Wang and the Dope Fish.

But to get into the nitty gritty of why this mod is a stinker? First off both your weapons and enemy weapons are grossly overpowered. For example the new Lo Wang enemy has 600 hp, yet all it takes is one rocket to kill them. The alien bastards being this powerful makes the game way too hard at first, but once you know what to expect the game is way too easy.

Level design ranges anywhere from okay to "baby's first map". Several of those maps have extremely cruel and unfair death traps, some of which even make you unable to finish the level at all. But what I think I dislike the most is that there's plenty of placeholder maps that don't work. Why not just add in more mediocre levels that do function? Well anyway this is only the first episode.
